On Friday night March 28th through Saturday night March 29th a High Intensity Construction Cycle (HICC) of the Northbound inner roadway (car lanes) adjacent to Structures 85.77N and 87.10N will have all of the Precast Concrete Construction Barrier (PCCB) removed from the roadway and have the center lane and right lane milled and paved to their final grade.  This will require the closure of the right and center lanes from 8PM on Friday night until approximately 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoon.  All of the truck lanes will be open to both car and truck traffic during this period.

This area will then be restriped to its final alignment (pre-construction alignment) on the night of April 2nd.  Motorists should expect minimal, if any, delays while the shift is taking place.

New Traffic Pattern for the Northbound and Southbound Truck and Car Lanes between Interchanges 9 and 10 starting the week of October 31st

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - A new stage of bridge deck reconstruction and roadway improvements will occur in the Northbound and Southbound Truck and Car lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike between Milepost 85 to Milepost 88 (between Interchange 9 and Interchange 10). 

Northbound

All three of the Northbound Inner (car) traffic lanes will be shifted to the left.  The Northbound Outer (truck) traffic will be split with two lanes to the right of the new workzone and one lane to the left of the new workzone.  These shifts are scheduled to be implemented over several nights the week of 10/31/22 & 11/7/22.  The lanes are scheduled to be in this configuration until May 2023.

Southbound

All three of the Southbound Inner (car) traffic lanes will be shifted to the left.  The Southbound Outer (truck) traffic will be split with two lanes to the right of the new workzone and one lane to the left of the new workzone.  These shifts are scheduled to be implemented over several nights the week of 11/14/22.  The lanes are scheduled to be in this configuration until June 2023.

 It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be light to moderate during night time hours.

New Traffic Pattern for the Northbound and Southbound Truck and Car Lanes between Interchanges 9 and 10 starting September 15th

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - A new stage of bridge deck reconstruction and roadway improvements will occur in the Northbound and Southbound Truck and Car lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike between interchange 9 and interchange 10 (Milepost 83.3 to 88.1).  The new traffic pattern will shift each of the four roadways left to create a workzone on the right sides of the Turnpike.  Each of the four roadways will be shifted on separate nights starting on Wednesday Night September 14th at 6:00PM and continue with nightly closures until all four roadways are shifted.  It is expected to take between four to six nights to complete the shifts (9/14, 9/15, 9/16, 9/19, 9/20 & 9/21).

It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be light to moderate during night time hours.

Northbound Construction between interchanges 9 and 10 from June 24th to June 27th

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - A stage of bridge deck reconstruction and roadway improvements will occur in the Northbound direction of the New Jersey Turnpike between interchange 9 and interchange 10 (Milepost 83.3 to 88.1) starting on Friday Night June 24th at 6:00PM and lasting until Monday Morning June 27th at 5:00AM. The Northbound outer lanes (truck lanes) will be reduced from their existing three lanes to one or two lanes over the course of the weekend.  Two lanes of traffic will be open during the primarily daytime hours (7:00 AM until midnight) and only one lane of traffic will be open during the primarily nighttime hours:

·        9:00 PM Friday night until 7:00 AM on Saturday morning

·        Midnight on Saturday night until 07:00 AM Sunday morning

·        Midnight on Sunday night until 06:00 AM Monday morning.

 

It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate during peak hours. Drivers should allow additional travel time this weekend.

Northbound Construction between interchanges 9 and 10 from June 17th to June 20th

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - A stage of bridge deck reconstruction and roadway improvements will occur in the Northbound direction of the New Jersey Turnpike between interchange 9 and 10 (Milepost 83.3 to 88.1) starting on Friday Night June 17th at 8:00PM and lasting until Monday Morning June 20th at 6:00AM. Over the period of night the Northbound Inner roadway will be closed from 8:00PM to 6:00AM and during the day time hours it will be reduced to two lanes of travel.

It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate during peak hours. Drivers should allow additional travel time this weekend.
