As of June 2023, construction is on schedule and will continue shifting from Stage 1 to Stage 2 (out of 5 stages) at several locations over the next several months. The next two shifts to occur will be in the Southbound and Northbound Outer Roadways at Milepost 85.77 and are scheduled for July 7th and July 20th, respectively. 

• Southbound Outer Roadway (truck lanes) at Structure 85.77:

  • The right two lanes will be shifted 24 feet to the left onto the newly constructed bridge deck. The shift is currently scheduled for the night of July 7th and motorists should expect minimal delays, if any, while the shift is taking place. 

•  Northbound Outer Roadway (truck lanes) at Structure 85.77:

  • The right two lanes will be shifted 24 feet to the right onto the newly constructed bridge deck. The shift is currently scheduled for the night of July 20th and motorists should expect minimal delays, if any, while the shift is taking place. 

Milepost 83-85 (Structure 84.24 & 84.55):

• Northbound traffic on both the inner and outer roadways is currently shifted to the left to create a work-zone on the right side of the bridge structures. Northbound Stage 1 completion date is tentatively scheduled for the end of October, 2023.

• Southbound traffic on both the inner and outer roadways is currently shifted to the left to create a work zone on the right side of the bridge structures. Southbound Stage 1 completion date is tentatively scheduled for the end of September, 2023.

Milepost 85-88 (Structure 85.77 & 87.10):

• Northbound Traffic:

  • Both the inner and outer roadways are currently shifted to the left to create a work-zone on the right side of the bridge structures.

  • Structure 85.77N in the outer roadway is scheduled to be shifted into Stage 2 on July 20th, as noted above.  There will be no changes to the inner roadway at this location and it will remain in its current configuration until January, 2024.

  • Structure 87.10N in the outer roadway is currently scheduled to be shifted at the beginning of September, 2023. There will be no changes to the inner roadway at this location and it will remain in its current configuration until February, 2024.

•  Southbound Traffic:

  • The inner roadway at both structures is currently shifted to the left to create room for shifting the outer roadway to the left to create room for work-zones. There will be no changes to the inner roadway at Structures 85.77S and 87.10S until February, 2024 and November, 2023, respectively.

  • The outer roadway at Structure 85.77S is scheduled to be shifted into its Stage 2 configuration on July 7th, as noted above. 

  • The outer roadway at Structure 87.10S was shifted into its Stage 2 configuration on June 9, 2023, having all three lanes shifted to the left with a run of concrete barrier between the left and center lane, and will remain in this configuration until November, 2023.
